Lindberg Models ID4 Independence Day Captured Alien Attacker:
I was looking at other modeler's work one day and saw their version of this model. I thought to myself, "I wish I had gotten that model when I got the ID4 Alien model". Later that day I was rearanging a closet and I FOUND this model stuffed way in the back! It's a great kit - not completely screen-accurate, but a good build. I started of with the 'human' repair work and painted it Silver. Then I did allthe Caution Striping. Once that was done, I masked it and set about the task of creating the alien finish on the rest of the ship. I like the way the 'steel' contrasts against the 'alien' surface textures.
The model comes with a display stand like the support structure used in the movie. I thought about adding magnets to the stand and the ship so it could hover, but the math overwhelmed me and I bailed on that idea.
